Wimbush, 301-344-0298; Contracting Officer, Alan Connell, 301-344-0298 Solicitation Notice - The contractor shall upgrade the existing Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system in Building 1 at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) at Clay Center, Nebraska. Significant elements of work include: a. provide general laboratory exhaust system providing eight air changes per hour; b. elimination of recirculated laboratory air; c. modifications to existing laboratory air handling unit to accomplish compliance; d. replacement of existing chillers; e. installation of emergency eye washes; f. extension of fume hood exhaust stacks; g. paint laboratory walls; h. replacement of laboratory fire doors; i. correction of miscellaneous electrical deficiencies; j. seal existing penetrations in firewalls; and k. testing and balancing of the HVAC systems. The total estimated construction cost is between $800,000 and $1,000,000. Time for completion of construction will be approximately 9 months after notice to proceed is issued. A Pre-Bid Conference will be scheduled midway through the bid phase.
