Project is in a designated wilderness, so motor vehicles and power tools are not allowed. Bids submitted for this project will include Government's transportation of contractor's materials via helicopter and an alternate bid for transportation of materials by non-motorized means at contractor expense. Work includes removal and reconstruction of a built up roof and wood subroof. Reconstruction of lookout loft with metal framing and grating. Repointing and repair of slate steps, & granite walls. Located in Custer County, SD, Black Hills National Forest. Contract time is 120 calendar days. All responsible sources will be considered by the agency. (0188)
