The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement for a 14-inch directional range lantern for use as a marine aid to navigation signal. The lanterns must conform to USCG G-ECV Specification Number 409-A, ''14-Inch Range Lantern.'' The USCG anticipates awarding a requirements type contract for a base period with four option periods. To ensure compliance with specified contract requirements, first article tests will be performed on 3 first article units before production is authorized. A pre-award survey may be performed to ascertain manufacturing capability. The USCG anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation on or about July 27, 1995.
