The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement for a 14-inch directional range lantern for use as a marine aid to navigation signal. The lanterns must conform to USCG G-ECV Specification Number 409-A, ''14-Inch Range Lantern.'' The USCG anticipates awarding a requirements type contract for a base period with four option periods. To ensure compliance with specified contract requirements, first article tests will be performed on 3 first article units before production is authorized. A pre-award survey may be performed to ascertain manufacturing capability. The USCG anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation on or about July 27, 1995. This solicitation is available in both hardcopy form and electronic form via Internet electronic mail (e-mail).
