70 -- SUN SERVER UPGRADES Sol RFP Q2911 Due 090195 Contact D.H. Ferguson - Contact Administraton (518) 395-4549 Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) intends to purchase a Sun SPARC storage Array Model 200 including a Fibre Channel SBus card, 56 inch data expansion cabinet populated with 6 differential disk trays and 36 x 9 GB differential wide SCSI-2 expansion disks. Upgrades for two Sun 4/670 workstation servers to Sun SPARCcenter 2000E servers will be included as options. Each optional upgrade entails replacement of the Sun 4/670 chassis and processor board (with one 60 MHz CPU and 256 megabytes (MB) of memory); the addition of a SPARC storage Array Model 200 with 2.9 gigabyte (GB) expansion disks; and the addition of FDDI interfaces. The SPARC storage Array Model 200 must also be able to accomomodate existing Sun differential SCSI-2 2.1 GB disk drives and Sun differential wide 2.9 GB disk drives. Additional options are also included for an upgrade of a Sun 4/690 server to a SPARCcenter 2000E including FDDI interfaces, additional SPARCstorage Arrays, and a SPARCcenter 2000E processor board. All items will be specified as Sun part numbers or equal. Installation will be included. If there are any vendors able to provide these items, inquires shall be submitted in writing to D.H. Ferguson within fifteen (15) days. Selected vendor will be required to obtain a DOE ``L'' clearance. (191)
