The U.S.Postal Service intends to place an order for ESCON Channel Directors, Model 3, to provide connection to 36-track tape equipment currently installed within USPS tape libraries. This requirement is to provide 6 each, Escon Channel director base units with 28 ports, redundent power supply, MAU; 30 each, 4-port upgrades for the Model 3; and 3 each, Consoles for the Model 3 Escon Director. This equipment is manufactured by Macdata Corporation in Denver CO. This is a notice of intent to acquire equipment utilizing USPS Simplified Procedures in accordance with the USPS, PM 4.2.1.b.2., therefore no solicitation documents exist. The U.S. Postal Service will award an open market purchase order based on the responses to this notice in accordance with the U.S. Postal Service regulations and policies. Interested parties are invited to submit a written quotation response within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice, which must include technical data sufficient to determine your capability to meet the entire requirement.
