The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to issue an unrestricted Request for Proposal (RFP) for contractor services to provide, on-site, systems software services in support of OPM's mainframe-based retirement, health and life insurance automated functions. OPM seeks contractor services to maintain: heterogeneous IBM operating systems; primarily MVS/ESA operating systems on IBM plug-compatible multiplatform environments (mostly mainframes); an enterprise telecommunication processing platform through token-ring networks; LANs running under Novell Netware; MVS/ESA/CICS transaction processing systems that process over 250,000 production transactions per day; and software AG ADABAS data base management systems (mainly MVS/ADABAS) in multiplatform environments. The Request for Proposal (OPM-RFP-95-1528ASH) will be available electronically through OPM's MAINSTREET Bulletin Board System O/A August 1, 1995. To download a RFP from MAINSTREET you need the following: Hardware and software requirements needed to access OPM's MAINSTREET: a. Personal computer (or terminal); b. Modem (any speed up to 19.2k baud); c. Communications software (Procomm, Crosstalk, Smartcom, etc.): Set for : 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, full duplex; and d.
