Army Reserve Center, Fort Shafter, Oahu, Hawaii. This project consists
of constructing a training facility for the U.S. Army Reserve. It
includes construction of a three-story administrative-type facility
(Bldg A) with exclusive offices as well as common use office areas,
classrooms, restrooms and elevators. A separate single story unit
storage annex (Bldg B) will be constructed with arms vault and unit
storage space. Telecommunications infrastructure with wiring will be
provided. Supporting facilities include utilities, electrical service,
air conditioning, interior/exterior lighting, fire protection and
alarm systems including sprinklers, sidewalks, paving, parking, curbs
and gutters, storm drainage, landscaping, information systems, and site
improvements. Work also consists of demolishing four buildings in the
Fort Shafter Flats area (Bldgs 1544, 1545, 1546 and 1571) and
constructing a parking lot on this site to include proper drainage,
lighting and landscaping. A replacement administrative building (Bldg
C) will be constructed due to the demolition of the aforementioned four
buildings. It will consist of offices, restrooms and a laboratory.
Supporting facilities include utilities, electric service,
interior/exterior lighting, fire protection and alarm systems including
sprinklers, sidewalks, paving, curbs and gutters, storm drainage,
parking, and site improvements. Please note that a telecommunications
systems designer (subcontractor) with a minimum of two years experience
in designing a Category 5 or greater telecommunications systems is
required. The telecommunication installer shall be factory certified to
install the proposed Category 5 telecommunication equipment and
materials and shall have completed at least two projects utilizing
Category 5 telecommunications systems. This project also includes up to
two years of maintenance of the electrical and mechanical equipment for
the Training Facility (Bldg A) and Unit Storage/Arms Vault (Bldg B).
The estimated cost of the proposed project is between $10 million and
$25 million. Solicitation to be issued O/A July 31, 1995. Documents to
be available at $264.00 per set of specifications and full-size
drawings or $222.00 per set of specifications and half-size drawings.
Single copies of specifications alone may be purchased by interested
applicants for $73.00. Full-size drawings alone may be purchased for
$191.00 a set. Half-size drawings alone may be purchased for $149.00 a
set. Payment must accompany request. Checks and money orders to be
made payable to the US Army Engineer Division, Pacific Ocean. Send
checks to Finance & Accounting Officer, US Army Engineer Division, Bldg
230, Fort Shafter, Hawaii 96858-5440. Payment will not be refunded and
specifications and drawings need not be returned. Small and
disadvantaged firms are encouraged to participate as prime contractors
or as members of joint ventures with other small businesses and all
interested contractors are reminded that the successful contractor will
be expected to place subcontracts to the maximum practicable extent
with small and disadvantaged firms in accordance with the provisions of
