The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to enclose the fully operational open north dock. The work will be in two phases with dock positions 1 through 12 in Phase 1, and 13 through 24 in Phase 2. Phase 1 must be substantially complete for mail processing operations prior to the start of Phase 2. There will be a small extension of the Phase 1 dock (approximately 1,100 square feet). The exterior walls will be tilt-up panels (on-site casting bed) textured to match the existing building exterior. Examples of other work include: drilled piers, structural, dock seals, dock levelers, several pair of impact doors, roll up overhead doors, sprinkler, electrical, etc., according to plans and specifications contained in the solicitation package. The overall construction period of 160 days provides for the start of Phase 1 construction, which must be complete by November 17, 1995. No construction work will be permitted during the period from November 18, 1995, through January 2, 1996. During that period the contractor will have to clear the dock area of tools, equipment, and materials so that both Phase 1 and Phase 2 dock areas are available for postal operations without interference.
