Slickbar mk 10 heavy-duty deployable oil boom brand name or equal. Contractor to deliver oil boom to the Naval Air Station Alameda. Salient characteristics -overall height: minimum 24'', maximum 28'' -freeboard: minimum 8'', maximum 12'' -tensile strength: minimum 30,000 lbs, maximum 40,000 lbs -buoyancy to weight ratio: 3:1 -coated fabric wt. Oz/sq yd: minimum 60, maximum 80 -type of base fabric: must be woven polyester or nylon. -Type of coating material: must be 100 percent polytetramethylene ether glycol (ptmeg) urethane. -Boom color: the floatation elements and/or the main barrier material must be international orange. -End connector: interlocking boom connectors must be able to connect to other booms without the use of tools. Connectors are to be navy standard with male connectors on one end and female on other end. -Flotation member: flotation member for permanent boom must be closed cell foam with a covering that has a puncture resistance equal to the main barrier. -Ballast: lead weights shall be used at the bottom of the skirt to keep the barrier in a vertical position and to provide maximum obstruction to oil passage. -The boom shall be in accordance with astm f625 (standard practice for describing environmental conditions relevant to spill control system for use on water). -Length of each section is to be 100 feet (plus or minus 2 feet) A 100% small business set-aside.
