Pauline Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with Cummins-Wagner, 10901 Pump House Road, Annapolis, Maryland under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. NIST has a requirement for the Contractor to provide four (4) new condenser water pump and motor assemblies identical to existing assemblies in (NIST) Building 305 on the NIST Gaithersburg campus. The required vertical turbine pumps (Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, Model No. IDP26LKM) shall be capable of 9,000 GPM at 110 ft. head. The pump motors shall be vertical solid shaft type, 300 HP non-overloading, 1,200 RPM, 460V/30/60 hz, TEFC, Class F insulation with a 1.15 service factor (U.S. Electric Motors, Model No. G74694 Frame 449 Type JV4). In order to ensure that the NIST Cooling Tower water system will balance and to maintain cost effective maintenance and repair services, Cummins-Wagner is the only known source available who can provide the required pump and motor assemblies identical to the existing system currently installed. The required delivery schedule (FOB Destination - Gaithersburg) for this requirement is ninety (90) days from contract award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. See Note 22. (0192)
