Repair approximately 8,440 square feet. Work in this portion of the
building will occur while the othr portion is occupied, necesitating
sealing off the two areas. Work will include selective demolition of
Architectural, HVAC and electrical systems. Architectural will include
walls, asbetos floor tile, wall coverings, mini blinds, hand rails,
ceilings, personnel and overhead doors. New construction will include
metal stud and drywall walls, wood doors and metal frames, attic
inulation under roof framing, carpet and ceramic tile floors, suspended
acoustical tile ceiling and new rest rooms. Plumbing work will be all
new. HVAC will include a new air handler in the main mechanical room,
new ductwork, VAV units, controls, etc. Supply and return air ducts
from the main mechanical room will have been stubbed into this space.
Electrical will include lighting, general purpose receptacles, IG
receptacles, combination telephone/LAN devices, and a fire alarm system
tied into the system current system. This area will also be handicapped
accessible. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and
$500,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about 31 July 1995. The
bid opening date will be on or about 31 August 1995. The proposed
contract listed here is being considered for 100 percent set-aside for
small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns. SDB concerns interested
in having the project set-aside should, as early as possible but not
later than 15 days of this notice, indicate interest by providing
previous project references of similar type work, bonding capacity and
a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and
economically disadvantaged business concern. If adequate interest is
not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as
unrestricted wihout further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice
