The proposed acquistion listed herein is being considered for 100% Set Aside for Small Disadvantaged Business firms. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing, of their intention to bid the project as a prime contractor no later than 15 days from the date of this notice. The notification must contain a positive statement of eligibility as a Small Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Business concern; evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this nature and magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted procurement. Interested parties will be put on the planholders list and issued on IFB when available. The estimated cost of construction for this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The SIC Code is 1623. The work shall be performed at the Naval Communication Detachment, Cheltenham, Maryland. The work includes the removal of lead-based paint from two water towers, cleaning and paint structural and galvanized steel on the towers, installation of automatically controlled cathodic protection systems for the water tanks, minor steel and concrete repairs and incidental related work. The projected issuance of plans and specifications is 1 August 1995 and the estimated bid opening date is 31 August 1995 at 2:00 p.m. Plans and Specifications may be picked up at the location indicated above or may be requested by mail to the above address or via facsimile by using fax # (202) 433-6900.
