Contracting Officer, 505-846-4925. The Air Force Phillips Laboratory,
Directorate of Contracting, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, intends to award
a sole source contract to Motorola for all required personnel,
equipment and materials for the expansion of an existing proprietary
Motorola Smartnet II plus, model T5272, Single Site Trunked radio
system. This procurement will entail purchase of equipment that is
fully compatible with the existing system, to ensure existing
warranties are not voided. It will also require installation and
optimization of a portion of the equipment purchased in various
locations. Respondents shall have a minimum of two years experience in
Motorola's Trunked Radio System and four years general Radio Frequency
equipment maintenance experience, at least one individual shall also
have two years general electronics engineering experience. The effort
is expected to be completed six months after initiation. Respondents
are required to provide information concerning their ability to provide
and install this equipment. The information should address the topics
of compatibility and warranty assurance. A contract will be awarded to
Motorola provided other sources cannot furnish the items at more
favorable terms. Firms responding must submit technical documentation
(i.e. technical literature, brochures, etc) for the trunked radio
system being offered. The technical documentation should provide
sufficient technical data in order for the project office to determine
whether the trunked radio system meets the required
technical/functional specifications as stated above. Responses with
supporting technical data/documentation are to be submitted to Phillips
Laboratory/PKOS, Attn: Ms Emelda Armijo, 2000 Wyoming Blvd SE, Kirtland
AFB NM 87117-5606 no later than 27 July 95. NOTE 22: The proposed
contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government
intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority
of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and
capability to respond to the requirement of submit proposals. This
notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However,
all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is
issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of
publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A
determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract
based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of
the government. Information received will normally be considered
solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. Firms responding should indicate if they are a Small
Business, a Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Business, and 8(a)
qualified business, or Woman-Owned Business. For purposes of being
considered a small business the following applies: Sic Code 3663, Size
750 employees. Foreign owned firms will not be precluded from
participating in this acquisition. DPA # KAA 95 AD001. An Ombudsman has
been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose
of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from
potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established
channels to address concerns during the proposal development phase of
the acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels to
request information, pose questions, and voice concerns before
