The National Air Intelligence Center (NAIC), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433-5611, has a requirement for hardware maintenace for the VITec50 and Viper image computers that support the Imagery Digitizing and Archival System (IDAS). The Ai Force intends to procure, on a sole source basis, the maintenance for 01 Oct 95 through 30 Sept 96 from Connectware, Inc. owners of the proprietary hardware. Solicitation will be issued approximately 06 Aug 95. An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor conerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of concern.
