This publication serves as a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with Global Imaging, Inc., to provide the new Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) GVAR satellite upgrade to the existing High Resolution Image Processing Systems (HIPS) at the Weather Service Forecast Offices (WSFO) in Anchorage, Alaska and Honolulu, Hawaii. The software upgrades must be completely compatible with the existing proprietary Global ARONET software, system and network used by the National Weather Service; this includes UNIX, X-Windows and MOTIF. The Government believes that no other firm has access to this proprietary software. Delivery of the upgrade is required 120 days after contract award. This notice may represent the only official notice of such solicitation. See Numbered Note 22. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. (0193)
