COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 14,1995 PSA#1388EC/EDI WORKSHOP; DAYTON, OHIO; AUGUST 8 & 9, 1995 Are you prepared to
lose valuable business with the Government because you're not doing
EDI? Plan to attend the Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange
(EC/EDI) Workshops being held at the Dayton Convention Center on August
8 and 9, 1995. The event is sponsored by the Defense Electronics Supply
Center (DESC) - Dayton, OH, the Defense Construction Supply Center
(DCSC) - Columbus, OH, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service
(DFAS) - Columbus, OH, and the Dayton Electronic Commerce Resource
Center (ECRC). If you are a commercial enterprise currently supplying
or interested in supplying goods to the Department of Defense, you can
attend either day (the agenda is the same for both days) to learn
about the Federal EC/EDI Program and how it will affect your business.
Soon, all companies supplying goods to the government will be required
to send and receive their business documents such as RFPs/RFQs, Quotes,
Purchase Orders, and Invoices via EDI. Guest speakers include Mr.
Robert Molino, Exec. Dir. of DLA Procurement, Mr. Mike Green, DISA, and
many other DLA representatives. The workshop will be an interactive
event where you can discuss EDI fundamentals, the DFAS payment process,
Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, DLA commodity issues, DLA
procurement systems, and many other topics. At the workshop, you can
attend training courses, talk one-on-one with EDI experts, compare
Value Added Network (VAN) costs and services, and register to do EDI
with the government. Your $50 registration fee covers handout and
reference materials, continental breakfast, lunch and admission to the
exhibit hall. Please contact the ECRC at (513) 449-6060 or
skrsacok@dayecrc3.sinclair.edu for registration information. Register
by Friday, August 4 to be included on the attendee roster. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 1057 19950713\SP-0001.MSC)
