Notice of Intent to exercise the option to extend the term of contract DAAC67-94-D-0001 for the period 28 October 1995 through 27 October 1996 with Valley Quarries, Inc. The following estimated annual quantities and prices constitute the option year: 6000 TN of 2 RC crushed limestone $42,000.00; 100 TN of 2B limestone $795.00; 250 TN of 6'' to 9'' limestone riprap $2,662.50; 600 TN of limestone anti-skid $4,770.00; 650 TN of #1 limestone dust $4,810.00; 215 TN of 1/4'' hot bituminous topping $6,880.00; 200 TN of #2 binder bituminous topping $5,650.00; 72 CD of 3,500 psi, Class A, 6 bag concrete including hauling (6 CD minimum) $4,392.00; 72 CD of 3,500 psi, Class A, 6 bag concrete without hauling $3,672.00; 72 CD of 3,500 psi, Class A, 6 bag concrete with winter accelerators, with hauling, $4,536.00; 47 CD of high early, 8 bag concrete with hauling $3,196.00; 47 CD of high early, 8 bag concrete without hauling $2,773.00; 47 CD of high early, 8 bag concrete with winter accelerators with hauling $3,290.00; 100 hauls of various concretes at less than 6 CD $6,800.00; 100 TN of masonry sand $1,039.50; 320 TN of bank run sand $2,784.00; and, 900 TN of #3 railroad limestone ballast $7,695.00. There are two additional option years with an average approximate increase in cost per year of 2.7%. This synopsis is a Notice of Intent and should not be considered an RFP. No solicitation document exists and a request for such a document will be considered an invalid response. Responses must be received within 15 calendar days of the publication of this notice in the CBD. Any response made must be in writing and include sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to satisfy the stated requirements with conditions/price more favorable to the Government than the current contract. Action on any response will only be taken if the provided documentation clearly indicates that it is in the Government's best interests to consider other than the currently contemplated action of exercising the option. In the absence of an evaluated better offer, the option will be exercised. (0194)
