Officer (301) 496-3704. The National Institutes of Health, Clinical
Center has a requirement to procure a Baxter CS-3000 Cell Seperator on
a source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth
in FAR 6.301-1. The required characteristics of the cell seperator are:
(1) Unique sealless design of CS-3000 Plus to reduce the risk of
bacterial contamination to the product and operator exposure to
aerosols. (2) A low extracorporal volume reduces the risk of
hypovolemic reactions. (3) Warms blood before returning it to the donor
or patient. Provide high yeilds and a pure product. (4) Seperation of
patients blood into cells and plasma, such as: Plasma exchange, Red
cell exchange, Therapeutic cell reductions, Lymphocyte collections, and
Lymphoplasma exchange. (5) Direct reprogramming and editing
capabilities for modifying procedures making it ideal for research
protocols. Capability to store eight modified programs in permanent
memory, eliminating the need to reprogram. (6) Schedule staff and donor
for platelet collections without worrying about 24 hours outdate. (7)
ability to simultaneously collect up to 500 ml of plasma in a seperate
preattached transfer pack unit with each therapeutic dose of
platelets. (8) Preoperatively collects platelets for elective surgery.
Any other firm that believes that it has the ability to meet the
Government requirement is invited to respond to this notice by
furnishing a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet,
at a minimum, all stated features of the Government required
