support the Air Force and Air Force Reserve KC-10 missions at McGuire
Air Force Base. The proposed work encompasses an addition and interior
modifications to existing flight simulator facility. This 14,000
square foot addition will provide: new administrative areas (offices,
classroom, and briefing areas); support areas (lavatories, computer
room, maintenance areas, and mechanical equipment room) and; a 1,100
square foot high bay area to house the Boom Operator Training (BOT)
simulator equipment. The proposed addition is a single story, slab on
grade, steel framed structure with standing seam metal roof. The
foundation system is column spread footings with continuous strip wall
footings. Exterior walls are masonry cavity walls constructed of CMU
with brick facing. Interior partitions will generally be constructed of
steel studs with gypsum board facing or CMU. Only minor alteration and
refurbishing is required in the existing building. The addition will
receive high temperature hot water from the McGuire central heating
plant via the HTHW distribution system and will be furnished with new
HVAC systems, domestic hot and cold water, and plumbing. The facility
will also be: fully sprinklered (wet pipe system hydraulically
designed); furnished with electric power and lighting throughout and;
wired for telephone and Local Area Network systems. Furnishing and
installation of pre-wired workstations is included as part the
construction of this facility. Site utilities, sidewalks, bituminous
parking, curbs, grading, storm drainage, landscaping, etc. are also
work requirements. Minor demolition within the existing buildings,
removal of pavements, etc. are within this scope. The prospective
bidders will be invited to visit the building site; date and time of
site visit is to be specified within the bid documents. Plans and
specifications are available on or about 02 August 95. Bid opening date
is 30 days from plans and specifications available date or 01 Sept.
1995 at 2:00 P.M. A $75.00 charge for plans and specifications is
nonrefundable. Checks should be made payable to FAO USA COE NED and
sent to the Finance and Accounting Office at 26 Federal Plaza, N.Y.,
N.Y. 10278-0090. Please do not send P.O. Boxes. The estimated cost
range is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Completion time is 400
