(804) 764-7681. Furnish all plant, labor, equipment and material, and
perform all operations necessary to remove and dispose of lead-based
paint on window sash, frame, sill, stool, trim, etc., and repair by
replacement windows, window components, paneled door and screen doors
noted: restore paneled door noted; installation of new windows to match
existing where noted, painting of repaired windows, door and newly
installed windows and doors, repair by replacement damaged lapped wood
siding and wood step stringers and painting of same; repointing
specified areas of masonry on the exterior of building, vine and weed
control in specified areas; repair of T&G soffit at roof edge where
noted, and application of exterior sealants. Lead containing paints
have been identified and shall be handled per the federal and state
laws, regulations and interim guidelines for the handling of lead-based
paints. The work also consists of an additive bid item for the removal
of the existing asbestos containing shingles on the sides of dormers
and the shingled pediments over the dormer windows. Additive bid also
includes repair by replacement of the shingles with lapped wood siding
on all dormers. All asbestos containing materials shall be handled per
the federal and state laws, regulations and interim guidelines for the
handling of asbestos containing materials. All work shall be
accomplished in accordance with the specifications, and terms and
conditions of the contract. Magnitude of this project is between
$100,000 and $250,000. The proposed contract listed here is being
considered for 100% set aside for small disadvantaged business (SDB)
concerns. Interested SDB concerns who wish to be one of the two
respondents that causes the solicitation to be 100% set aside for SDB
concerns in accordance with Public Law and Federal Acquisition
Regulations should, as early as possible, but NLT 15 days of this
notice, indicate interest by providing to the Contracting Office above
evidence of capability to perform, bonding capacity, financial assets
or line of credit, work history and contacts, affirmative statement
requesting set aside action, and a positive statement of eligibility as
a small, socially and economically disadvantaged business concern.
Letters from sureties and banks attesting to capability shall be
current and not dated any earlier than 90 days from date of your
response. Also, request that any interested SDB firms indicate whether
they are bidding as a prime contractor or a subcontractor. If adequate
interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be
issued as unrestricted without further notice. Therefore, replies to
this notice are requested from all business concerns as well as from
SDB concerns. Firms that are not SDB shall indicate whether they are
women owned and if they are small or large business for clarification.
Firms should also indicate if they are interested as a prime or as a
subcontractor. Only written requests for the solicitation packages to
the above address or via facsimile to 804-764-4071 will be honored and
issued on a first come, first served basis. There will be 50
solicitation packages available. To avoid delays, request must include
the 9 digit zip code. The bid issue and bid opening dates are
