The USAF, HSC/YAGC, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433-7009, has a requirement to procure a Microdynamics L45-Laser Cutter and Pattern Nesting Software. The Microdynamics Pattern Design System (PDS) is used to create patterns and pattern marking equipment, including a plotter and digitizer, is used to produce output. The pattern design system and patern plotter system require direct linkae to produce patters which are accurate and reliable. The Microdynamics L45-P Laser Cutter is capable of cutting heavy manila paper and fabric which will complete the current Microdynamics system consisting of a Microjet/T20 plotter system linked with the PDS and plotter directly and will plot both individual pattern pieces ued by Defense Personnel Support System in manufacturing samples and in fabricating custom sized uniforms. The USAF, HSC/YAGC is contemplted a sole source contract with Gerber Garment Technology, Richardson, TX. Solicitation will be issued approximately 17 July 1995. An Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to ue established channels to communicate his/her concerns during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
