announces the availability of Program Research and Development
Announcement (PRDA) No. DE-RA21-95MC32195 entitled ''Efficient
Separations and Processing (ESP) Technology Development'' on or about
8/15/95. The PRDA supports the mission of the Office of Technology
Development which is within DOE's Office of Environmental Management.
The major objective of the procurement is to identify, develop and
perfect separations technologies and processes to treat wastes and
address environmental problems throughout the Department of Energy's
nuclear weapons complex. Eleven primary need areas have been identified
as those being the highest priority for industry involvement for this
PRDA and are listed below: 1) Reagents for Electrokinetics; 2)
Radionuclide and Transuranic Component Removal; 3) Toxic Component
Removal; 4) Problem Component Removal; 5) Soils and Groundwater
Treatment; 6) Aqueous Processing, Recycle, and Waste Minimization; 7)
Tritiated Water; 8) Organic and/or Nitrate/Nitrite Destruction and/or
Separation; 9) Immobilization and Waste Forms; 10) Separations for
specific EM Focus Area Needs; and, 11) Separations R&D Management
Tools. Only written requests for the solicitation will be honored.
Written requests for the PRDA should reference the PRDA title and
number and should specify a point of contact at the requestors
location. Request may be submitted by mail at the above address, by fax
at (304)285-4683, or at MESTEL@METC.DOE.GOV via internet. A forty-five
day response time is planned. Telephone requests for the solicitation
