Ford, Jr., 208/378-5100/Contracting Officer The Grand Coulee Power Office, located in Grand Coulee, Washington, is planning to replace 18 existing turbine runners with improved higher efficiency units. There are nine turbines with a name plate rating of 150,000 horsepower at 330 feet of head, and nine turbines with a name plate rating of 165,000 horsepower at 330 feet of head. In conjunction with replacing the runners, we will be rehabilitating and/or replacing existing turbine components with components of improved designs. As part of the process for selecting a contractor to furnish the turbine runners, we will require production of several small scale models. The instant contract will be for testing of those models for efficiency and for verification of homology to prototype drawings. Currently we expect to begin the model testing sometime around May or June of 1997. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which we will consider.
