The US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Interagency Fire Center, has more than 60 automated weather sampling recorders located on National Wildlife Refuges throughout the nation. The Refuges require real time weather information to conduct prescribed fire operations and for wildfire suppression. The most widely used variety of recorder is the Forest Technology Systems, Inc., FTS-11. These instruments are automatic devices which are used to support the Service's fire management program. The purpose of this contract is to acquire annual maintenance (including emergency service) of all the Service's FTS-11 recorders. The modular sensors and recorders are patented, proprietary devices of FTS. The proposed contract includes four (4) one-year options to extend the term of the contract for services.
