TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER - NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL The Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986, as amended provides for making Federal laboratory developments accessible to private industry, and to state and local government, and the improvement of economic, environmental and social well-being of the United States by stimulating the civil utilization of Federally-funded technology development. In the spirit of this Act, the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Monterey, CA solicits inquiries and proposals for Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRDADAs) and other contractual agreements which cover joint ventures with outside partners which are structured to mutually benefit NPS, and the cooperative partner and which lead to dual use technology transfer and commercialization for the benefit of the public and private sectors. As part of the NPS overall research program, the proposed agreements should be supportative of the School's curricula and research activites. Research at NPS is carried out by faculty in the School's fifteen Academic Departments and Groups Aeronatuics and Astronautics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Meteorology, National Security Affairs, Oceanography, Operations Research, Phyiscs, Systems Management, Command, Control, and Communications, Electronic Warfare, Space Systems, Undersea Warfare and 14 Research Centers of Excellence. Accordingly, NPS has extensive expertise and information in a wide variety of subject areas, and state-of-the-art test facilities and support services. Research and development proposals are solicited which compliment the School's research mission and which require NPS personnel, facilities and equipment. NPS will make available these expert services at cost to the partner. The proposing partner will provide the funds, and other personnel and resources as required. The partner will also have the interest, resources and technical expertise to incorporate the NPS and its in-house technology into either dual-use or commerical products intended for sale. Questions and enquiries regarding particular projects and the availability of specific NPS resources may be directed to Prof. F. Kevin Owen, (408) 656-2098. Closing date for the submission of proposals is 31 October 1995.
