Ching, Contracting Officer, (360)396-0264. PRESOLICITATION NOTICE. Solicitation consists of base bid and three options. Base Bid Item work is as follows: repair and remodeling of family housing units (officer's quarters), which have been placed on the National Historic Register including remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms, painting and plaster repair, electrical upgrades, window repairs, plumbing upgrades and incidental related work. Due to the historic character of the units, special attention to historic preservation guidelines which have been incorporated into the design of the repair work is required during construction. The work also includes abatement of asbestos containing materials and preparation and disposal of lead-containing materials such as paint and ceramic tile. An appendix will be included in the solicitation giving a brief description of each housing unit. During performance of this work, asbestos, hazardous waste, or pollution abatement will be encountered. Option 1 will include painting all surfaces in the basements and attics of each unit, as shown on the Room Finish Schedule. Option 2 includes providing and installing radiator covers as shown on the plans. Option 3 includes replacing the window screens as indicated. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 15 August 1995 at no charge until supply is exhausted. Contract completion time for work included in Base Bid Item is 759 calendar days; completion time for Option 1 is 90 calendar days; completion time for Option 2 is 21 calendar days; and for Option 3 completion time is no additional days.
