The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Warminster, PA, has a competitive requirement for twenty-seven 750 Watt duct heaters with variable heat level control. This duct heater shall be used to defog windows on an airborne platform. Heater characteristics shall include the following: 2.5 lbs maximum weight; .04 in. w.g. maximum pressure drop at 60 cmf @ .0765#/cu ft; 40,000 hours minimum predicted mean time between failure; 2.5-5.0 lbs minimum air flow operating range; -40 degrees fahrenheit minimum operating ambient air temp; +158 degrees fahrenheit maximum operating ambient air temp; and +165 degrees fahrenheit maximum operating inlet air temp.
