Rogus, 412/892-6221 The Department of Energy (DOE), Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center (PETC) is seeking small business sources who may be interested in submitting proposals for a small business set-aside contract to provide research, development, demonstration, and management services utilizing the Department's Western Environmental Technology Office (WETO) as Government furnished facilities. It is noted that the resulting contract will not be a Management and Operating contract under DOE regulations. This is not a request for proposals. The Contract would include the following work: 1) maintenance, operation, and management of the existing Government-owned facility, 2) continuation of varied DOE Office of Technology Development research development, demonstration, and evaluation projects, and 3) development of related environmental technologies funded by other entities. WETO's vision includes growth of its mission to demonstrate, test, and evaluate innovative, timely, and cost effective solutions to environmental problems confronting the nation and the world. Technologies currently emphasized at WETO include the cleanup of water and soils, waste minimization and pollution prevention, and vitrification demonstrations. Small business sources having managerial development, evaluation, and demonstration capabilities, along with the capability to manage, operate, and maintain the existing Government facility, are sought. Interested sources should submit technical, managerial, operational, and personnel qualification statements of 5 pages or less within 45 days of the announcement. Statements should include organizational structure and evidence that the above qualifications are met. Sources should note that any resulting solicitation will be issued in Wordperfect 5.1 format on a 3.5 inch, high density computer diskette. Sources should confirm their business size determination.
