(212) 668-6274 Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for
the Drydocking Repairs to the USCGC Pea Island. Work for these
Drydocking repairs is to be performed at the contractor's facility. The
work which may be perform includes but may not be limited to the
following minimum items: 1. Renew Vent Piping and Associated Vents and
Vent Screens 2. Prepare and Prime Main Deck 3. Preserve Freeboard. 4.
Replace Galley Water 5. Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks 6. Overhaul
Stablizing Fins 7. Renew Rubber Bearings 8. Renew Water Lubricated
Propeller Shaft Bearings 9. Inspect and Repack MDE Exhaust Flapper
Valves 10. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. The proposed
contract will also contain indefinte items including, but not limited
to: 1. Welding Repairs 2. Preserve Underwater Body 3. Renew Reference
Electrode 4. Renew Cathodic Anode 5. Renew Capastic Fairing 6.
Ultrasonic Testing 7. Fabricate and Install Bronze sleeves in Various
Shaft Packing Areas--USCGC Pea Island's homepier is Mayport,
Florida--Vessel is 100 Feet in Length--USCGC Pea Island's Availability
Schedule is 06 November 1995--There will be a non-refundable charge
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings
and publications--The proposed contract listed here is open to both
large and small businesses--Plans and specifications will be issued on
or after 16 June 1995--All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority,

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
