Contracting Officer at 605-226-7567 The Indian Health Service is
attempting to locate qualified Buy-Indian sources to provide
full-service optical fabrication services and paraoptometric training
to optometry programs at designated hospitals and health centers in the
seven states of SD, ND, NE, IA, MN, WI and MI, covered by the Aberdeen
and Bemidji Indian Health Area Offices. Contractor will be required to
design a program to include provision of frames, prescription ground
lenses, complete eyeglasses; sample frame kits; catalogs, brochures;
lens tints, shades, coats; eyeglass repair; and training in ophthalmic
frame styling, dispensing, lensometry and eyeglass repair to
optometric assistants and technicians. Offers will be considered only
from vendors who have a full-service laboratory within the seven state
area to be served. Contractor must employ at least one current A.B.O.
(American Board of Opticianry) certified optician who supervises the
manufacture of the eyeglasses and provision of opthalmic training. A
fixed-price indefinite quantity contract is anticipated with initial
contract period of twelve months with four one-year option periods.
Vendors who have the capability of providing the above services are
invited to submit their request for consideration in this solicitation
in writing to the address shown above. Solicitation packages should be
