Z -- CONSTRUCTION OF SITE IMPROVEMENTS AT CAMP FOGARTY SOL DAHA37-95-B-0003 POC Contracting Officer Marcel Cartier (401)457-4222 (Site Code DAHA37). This solicitation is being issued on an unrestricted basis pursuant to FAR Subpart 19.10 Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Bid packages will be available two weeks after this notice appears in the Commerce Business Daily, to contractors capable of completing the work required under this solicitation. The construction cost range for this project in between $25,000 and $100,000. Bid documents will be available for inspection at the following locations, as a minimum, without charge: U.S. Property and Fiscal Office for Rhode Island, Procurement Division, 330 Camp Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02906-1954, and Rhode Island Army National Guard Facility Management Office, Armory of Mounted Commands, 1051 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-5717. This office will provide up to two sets to qualified general contractors. Subcontractors and suppliers will be encouraged to review the specifications and drawings at the locations stated above. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all plant, equipment, labor and materials necessary to perform site layout and installation of approximately 872 LF of 9 ga, zinc coated chain link fence, 8 FT high with a 1 FT high three-strand barbed topquard, plus two 24 FT wide equipment gates (12 FT sliding gates). Work also includes site layout and preparation of approximately 52,900 SF (230' x 230'), minor drainage toward exterior perimeter of site and placement of a 4'' compacted layer of 3/4'' crushed trap stone providing a stable base. The site is located at the Rhode Island Army National Guard Training Site, Camp Fogarty, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. All work will be bid as one job. The solicitation will be issued no sooner than two weeks after the date this announcement appears in the Commerce Business Daily and will be in the form of a sealed bid solicitation. A tentative bid opening date of August 22, 1995 has been set. The anticipated performance period is 90 calendar days. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this contracting opportunity is 1794 and the applicable size standard is $7 million. Funds are not presently available for this acquisition.
