54 -- PREFABRICATED PLATFORMS POC Contact Point, DAVID DALE, (516)282-3199 Brookhaven National Laboratory intends to solicit proposals for design, fabrication and assembly of two platforms for the RHIC STAR Detector. When assembleed each platform will be attached to the Solenoid Tracker at RHIC (STAR) which is to be installed in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The two platforms, one approximately 25'x25' the other 25'x15', must be designed for a minimum floor loading of 300#/Sq. Ft., will have three levels, and be capable of being rolled in one plane. The platforms are to be electrically insulated from the steel track on which it will roll. The steel track is not a part of the solicitation. The platforms will contain electronic and mechanicall equipment, cable raceways, and cooling water lines supporting detector operations. This equipment is not a part of the solicitation. Only those firms that provide technical information showing their capability to design, fabricate, and assemble platforms meeting this description will be considered.
