Dupre, Contracting Officer, at (5O5) 678-5134 The White Sands Missile Range, NM intends to acquire a PC based, satellite receiving and processing work station to ingest, display, and process GOES-Variable (GVAR) data from the GOES-8 National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration weather satellite and subsequent GOES satellites of similar design. System must be multi-tasking, fully automatic and have either windows or OS/2 operating system to be compatible with existing Government equipment. The above system will be obtained on the basis of the other than full and open competition from GTI Electronics, 1541 Fritz Valley Road, Lehighton, PA 18235 pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The system is unique in that it uses a multi-threaded OS/2 application and is the only system of its type that performs multi-tasking; i.e., it is capable of receiving data from a satellite while processing other images. THe software is capable of handling bit error rates as high as 1 in 100,000 with minimal loss of data and no loss of data confidence. The software is proprietary to GTI Electronics.
