ADVISORY GROUP FOR AEROSPACE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (AGARD): The Sensor and Propagation Panel (SPP) of AGARD will sponsor a Lecture Series on ``Optical Processing and Computing'' from 12-13 October 1995 in France, from 16-17 October 1995 in Italy, and from 19-20 October 1995 in Turkey. This two day lecture series will cover basic concepts and advantages of using optics for data processing and computing, the use of optics for interconnecting electronic and optoelectronic processors, the use of optoelectronic techniques to enhance the performance of various computing devices and systems, a discussion of emerging artificial neural networks as a signal processing paradigm and a review of recent developments in optoelectronic data communication and the forecasted effect on emerging computing and data processing technologies.
