Z -- UPGRADE ELEVATORS PHASE I SOL IFB 527-34-95 DUE 090895 POC Contact Point, MARK HELLER, (718)630-3553, Contracting Officer, MARK HELLER, (718)630-3553 Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to perform and complete project no. 527-96-123Z entitled ''Upgrade Elevators Phase I'', at the DVA Extended Care Center, 179th Street and Linden Blvd., St. Albans, New York as required by drawings and specifications. This will include the upgrade of elevators P1, P2 and P3 in building 89. Furnish all labor, materials and supervision required to perform preventive maintenance for all elevators (9 elevators, 1 dumbwaiter) at St. Albans VAECC facility as required by the specifications. Maintenance to be provided for a period of one (1) year with an option for contract renewal for 2nd and 3rd year. Scope of work (Construction): (1) Work includes replacing all elevator components with new as specified for P1, P2, P3 elevators in building 89. The following components shall be retained: Overhead gearless traction machines, deflector sheaves, machine beams, main & counterweight rails, buffers, roller guides, counterweights, hoisting ropes, governor ropes, hoistway entrance frames, sills, hanger supports, strut angles, fascial plates and toe guards, governors, slings, and car safety devices. The new components shall include, but not be limited to: Microprocessor control system, silicone controlled rectifying power units, cabs, traveling cables, governor ropes, terminal stopping devices, car leveling device, hoistway landings operating devices, car operating panels, auxillary car operating panels, door operators, hoistway doors, hoistway and machine room smoke detection, sump drains, and machine rooms lighting, etc. All work shall be in accordance with ANSI code and the specifications. (2) Provide Elevator maintenance as specified. Scope of work (Maintenance): (1) Provide an elevator mechanic on site for 25 hours per week minimum or 5 hours per work day (Apprentice workers not included in hours). (2) Provide all labor and materials to assure elevator performance in accordance with standards stated in the specifications. (3) Perform all testing as required by the specifications and all applicable codes and regulations. Construction cost estimate range is between $250,000 to $500,000. Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1796, Elevator Installation, Conversion and Repair. Construction Completion Time: 360 Calendar Days. Solicitation to issue O/A 8/7/95. Bid opening O/A 9/6/95. All requests for bid packages must be made in writing. (0200)
