Electronic Systems Center (ESC) hereby submits this Market Survey for the transportable Milstar Air Force Terminal Remoting System (MAFTRS) initial spare parts. The MAFTRS is a fiber optic remoting system uniquely developed for use with the Milstar Satellite Terminal. It consists of transceivers, converters, power inverters, power supplies, voice digitizers, etc. Sparing is at the Line Replaceable Unit level and must be accomplished with identical parts in order to maintain system configuration integrity. All components must meet strict form, fit and function specifications and be vendor qualified. Parts include the following: From ADC Fibermux Corp. - CC8862BP-DCE & DTE (Modules, Fiber Optic) and CC8862R-01 (Module, RS-422). From Texas Spectrum Electronics, Inc - 419FR4400-2 & 329FR4400-4 (T/L Assemblies). The above items were included in the MAFTRS production configuration identification baseline during development and were designed specifically for the MAFTRS System. A reprocurement data package is not available. For these reasons the Government intends to award on a sole source basis, to ADC Fibermux and Texas Spectrum Electronics, Inc. However, all responsible sources may submit at no cost to the Government a qualification package which outlines their capabilints to meet the form, fit, and function requirements. This information shall be delivered to the MILSATCOM Terminal Program Office within 5) working dconstitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and is not intended to be construed as a commitment by ESC.
