The Federal Communications Commission intends to enter into a sole source contract for the upgrade of the engineering calculations related to spectrum allotment for the prospective Advanced Television (ATV) service; the upgrade will make the computer programs for these engineering calculations available for operational use in the processing of applications for new stations. The intended Contractor, Techware, Inc provided, under Contract FCC-94-16, the Federal Communications Commission, Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) with computer software for evaluating the interference to TV service which would result under various conditions during the transition to ATV from the present type of TV system. This contract would be for the upgrade of that system with a not to exceed (nte) value of $50,000. The previous contract FCC-94-16 was competitively awarded.
