The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision to design, construct, and construction administration to expand the existing Processing and Distribution Center, Duluth, Minnesota, of approximately 40,743 net square feet, with additional parking including 27,280 square feet of enclosed parking. No fixed mechanization is required for this project. The scope of work includes, but not limited to, all trades typical to the complete construction of a project by adding additional mail workroom space, an extension to the loading dock area, a BMEU area, a Computer Forwarding Service area, and a parking garage. Site work associated with the project will include demolition of the existing employee parking area, removal of a metal storage building, the rerouting of a storm sewer and gas line, and the construction of new employee parking areas which will feature two new driveways entering the site from the south side. The building addition requires an expansion and renovation of the existing HVAC system with new units to be located in two new mezzanines. Offers will be evaluated technically as follows: (1) Design, (2) Architect Engineer Firms, (3) Construction Contractor, (4) Experience, (5) Staffing and Resources, and (6) Minority Business Enterprise Participation. Firms determined to be best technically qualified will continue into the price evaluation. A pre-proposal conference/walk through is scheduled for August 2, 1995 at 10 AM at the Processing and Distribution Center, 2800 W. Michigan Street, Duluth, Minnesota. This is a negotiated procurement, therefore, offers will not be publicly opened. Issue date for the project is July 19, 1995. Return date for the project is August 24, 1995. Performance Time is 360 days. Estimated Cost Range is $3,000,000 to $4,000,000. The cost of the plans and specifications for the above project is $100 per set. This charge is non-refundable.
