furnish the supplies described herein are requested to give written
notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to
the procurement office above within forty-five (45) calendar days from
the date of this synopsis. The contractor shall provide the tenth
update of the significant oil and gas field digital data base for the
United States. This data base shall include the following: 1) Complete
field and reservoir records for all fields first demonstrated to be
significant in 1993. 2) 1993 field and reservoir annual production,
cumulative production, proven reserves, and known recovery of crude
oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids; 1993 field and reservoir
cumulative production, proven reserves, and known recovery in BOE; and
1993 well data for fields in the data base. 3) a Play Characteristics
table, providing a concise digitized description of the geological
characteristics, size, and discovery history of the oil and gas plays
of the United States. 4) Continued upgrading of the data base,
including the addition of reservoir characteristics, discovery well,
and production and reserves records for all major reservoirs with at
least 0.5 million BOE known recovery, the addition of reservoir
discovery well data for small fields, an expansion of fluid
characteristics coverage, and the updating and upgrading of other
reservoir characteristics and; 5) The 1993 version of the New Fields
table, incorporating 700-750 fields. Upgrade must be compatible with
existing NRG database. Based on information available at this time, and
in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the
Government considers the item specified as a sole source from NRG
Associates, Colorado Springs, Colorado and proposes to negotiate a
contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional
sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that
they can furnish the required item or its functional equivalent (based
upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing
an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response
would include literature, brochures and such other materials which
correspond to the required item stated herein. This information will be
evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist.
Since no request for quotation document exists, requests for such
documents without accompanying information will be considered
non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This
notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this
