Excellence in Metalworking Technology (NCEMT) will host its fourth
annual Open House at the facilities of Concurrent Technologies
Corporation (CTC), 211 Industrial Park Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 on
Wednesday, September 27, 1995 from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The NCEMT,
operated by CTC for the U.S. Navy Manufacturing Science and Technology
(MS&T) program, is a national resource that provides research,
development, deployment, training and education in advanced
manufacturing technologies. The theme of the 1995 NCEMT Open House is
``Affordable Science and Technology for the Defense Industrial Base''.
Presentations and exhibits will focus on ongoing NCEMT projects, and
show how they benefit the Navy and domestic industry. These
presentations and technical stations include: Process Modeling and
Simulation, Welding, Powder Metallurgy, Semi-Solid Metalworking,
Manufacture of High Temperature Superconducting Materials, and Forming.
In each case, project managers and team members will be available to
answer questions and provide information about the technologies being
developed and applied. As well, a number of technical exhibits will be
positioned throughout the facility. In addition, Daniel R. DeVos,
President and CEO of CTC will describe CTC's role as a major technology
development and transfer organization, and Richard J. Henry, NCEMT
Program Manager, will present an overview of NCEMT activities. Last
year, over 240 representatives from private industry, government,
academia, and the military services attended the NCEMT Open House. To
