The EPA intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Thermo Jarrel Ash for the acquisition of a Simultaneous Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer. This instrument has the following components and characteristics: axially mounted torch with an elongated outer sheath quartz; 0.75 meter direct reading; simultaneous photomultiplier tube detection spectrometer system; ability to link database and operation software with exisitng ICP ThermoSpec(tm) and Enable(tm) software; and ability to interfere with Dionex Ion Chromatograph.
