and Acquisition Plan (LRRDAP) Standard Automated System (LSAS). The
next generation of the LSAS computer system will feature state-
of-the-art commercially available microcomputer hardware, compatibility
with existing removable external SCSI hard drives, and provide the
hardware capability to conduct desktop videoconferencing via ISDN
telephone lines. Up to 18 LSAS systems will be procured. Two systems
will be initially procured for testing and establishing system
standards. The remaining systems will be procured and maintained on a
brand name basis until such time that the government deems any
particular brand name item no longer provides best-value service. If
you are interested in participating in this acquisition, you must
submit product information, including technical specs, warranty and
pricing to BRTRC, 8260 Willow Oaks Corporate Drive, Suite 800, Fairfax,
Virginia 22031 within 15 days of this announcement. This system shall
be composed of two items as follows: (Item 1) Commercially available
(over 10,000 units shipped) Intel Pentium based microcomputer (100 Mhz
or faster) with 16MB RAM, PCI bus, IGB fixed hard drive, 3 1/2''
floppy drive, multimedia package with 4x speed CD-ROM drive, 16 bit
wavetable sound card and speakers, 28.8mbs internal modem, SCSI type
III port, 17'' multi- sync color monitor (.28 pitch) and display
adapter with 2 MB RAM and 1280x1024 resolution, keyboard, and mouse.
System software to be provided includes Windows 95 and Microsoft Office
Professional for Windows 95. Microcomputer System provided with
manufacturer's on-site or pre-paid overnight mail warranty service
anywhere in the continental U.S. for a period of 24 months, and free
telephone technical support. (Item 2) Commercially available (over
2,000 units shipped) desktop live videoconferencing and interactive
document conferencing hardware kit, including camera, microphone,
speaker, display adapters and software compatible with Windows 95,
providing image sizes of 352 x 240 pixels and refresh rate of 15 frames
per second over ISDN telephone lines. Desktop videoconferencing kit
provided with manufacturer's on-site or pre-paid overnight mail
warranty service anywhere in the continental U.S. for a period of 24
months, and telephone technical support. Offerers can propose to
provide either or both of the two items. Where offerers propose to
provide both items, they should also propose the installation and
testing of the videoconferencing kit (item 2) in the microcomputer
(item 1) as an alternative to the government performing that
installation. BRTRC will perform a best value selection of the
offerer(s) who satisfy the technical specifications, demonstrate that
their proposed system(s) are commercially available, ability to
distribute product to one or more sites in the continental United
States and provide the requisite warranty and technical support. Those
who proposed integrated products will be given consideration for the
time and expense saved by the Government in integration and shipping.
