Project consists of the construction of a total of eight service buildings with related segments of undergound utilities and adjacent site work. Seven buildings are single story, 50' x 50' structures while the MI 8 building, with an area of 9750 SF, includes a 40' x 150' high bay. Work includes concrete footings, foundation walls, substation pads and retention walls, structural steel frame, CMU partitions insulated metal siding, metal roof decking with BUR, doors, windows, HVAC sprinklers, electric power distribution, lighting, grounding and control systems. Also included are segments of undergound power and communication ducts, water systems, crushed stone hardstands and installation of one Fermi-furnished 30 ton overhead bridge crane and electrical equipment. Project will be a phase-funded, fixed price contract with bids evaluated on the basis of the total cost for the three phases; A, B and C. Intitial award of Phase A, consisting of four typical buildings; will be made in October, 1995. Phase B consisting of the MI 8 buildings and the remaining three typical buildings under Phase C will be awarded as DOE funding become available and adjacent work by others is completed. (205)
