66 -- 66-- BENCHTOP COORDINATE MEASURING MACHINE SOL F40650-95-B-0081 DUE 090895 POC Tony Clayborne, Contracting Officer, (615)454-5174. This requirement is for a coordinate measuring machine, to be Zeiss Model # C400 with U-Soft or approved equal with the following salient characteristics: Manual vertical bridge type machine with preloaded air bearings on all axes; z-axis must have adjustable counterbalance; measuring envelope must be no less than 15'' X 18'' X 12'' with volumetric accuracy of .0005'' as determined per ANSI B89.1.12m; individual locks and fine adjustment over full range of travel must be provided for each axis with controls placed to facilitate ease of use; work table must be laboratory grade granite with threaded stainless steel inserts to accomodate clamping of workpieces; must be able to take measurements with both hard probes and indexable Renishaw touch trigger probes; must include an IBM compatible 486 PC with PC based measurement software; 14'' color super BGA monitor; keyboard and printer; PC must have slots for both3.5'' and 5.25'' disks; software must be menu driven commands that include measurement routines to define circles, lines, planes, cones, cylinders, slots, bolt hole patterns, and spheres and their relationships such as distances, intersection points, parallelism, angularity, perpendicularity concentricity and symmetry; software must have the ability to take measurements in part coordinate systemwithout aliging part to machine axes (mathematical alignment); software must have capability to display and print coordiantes of individual probing points; software must have capability to prequalify and recall probe orientation when using star probe or indexable probe; software must have capability to position probe at specified location in any axis of part coordinate system by using fine adjustment and readout; software must be compatible with DMIS; software must have capability to send output to display printer and/or disk file; software must be able to measure contoured surfaces (digitizing) with graphical output on monitor; machine must be provided complete and ready to operate including steel base with bivration absorbing leveling mounts and air drier with filter and regulator; machine must be upgradeable to direct computer comtrol in the field. This requirement is also for an indexable probe to be Renishaw Model # MH8 or approved equal with the following salient characteristics: 15 degree detents complete with tp-2 5 way sensor and qualification sphere. This requirement is also for the following miscellaneous items: Probes- to be compatible with Renishaw MH8 probe or approved equal, 1mm ball dia .x10mm long; 2mm ball dia .x10mm long; 2mm ball dia.x20mm long; 3mm ball dia .x10 mm long; 10mm extension; stylus knuckle and 5-tip star probe. Hard probes- edge finder; .250'' diameter ball probe; .500'' diameter ball probe; chuck probeholder and tapered probes as necessary to locate holes with diameters from .050'' to 1.0''. Computer workstation - to accomodate PC with monitor, printer and keyboard. Operating and Maintenance manuals- include schematics down to and including board level. On-site set-up and training - include 12 hours set-up and training at Arnold AFB by factory trained personnel. The performance period will be 60 calendar days after contractor receipt of notification of contract award. Any responsible source may submit a bib which shall be considered.
