C -- PATIENT PRIVACY SOL RFP 504-95-12 DUE 081695 POC Contact Point, Margie Nation, (806)354-7841 A/E services to provide labor and materials to design Patient Privacy project at VA Medical Center, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo, TX 79106. The project will provide a minimum of one toilet and bath/shower for every two bedrooms and will modify large bedrooms so that no bedroom will have more than two beds. The loss of bedrooms through this process will be compensated by the construction of new or renovated space to keep bed levels as close to current levels as possible. Work includes the existing 160 inpatient medical, surgical, psychiatric beds, and 120 nursing home beds. All work will consider phasing and construction methods to allow continuing medical care with minimal impact due to dust, noise, etc. If ward areas must be temporarily relocated, then modification of temporary spaces will be included in the design. The project will include refinishing space adjacent to new work so that modification will not appear to be added but instead will look like original construction. Revisions and addition to exhaust/ventilation/HVAC and other systems will provide energy conservation. A/E is to provide all contract drawings on 30'' x 42'' .003 mylar and furnish AutoCAD compatible disks. Must provide design calculations for all work. (Include software necesary to interpret calculations.) Preliminary, 50%, 90%, and 100% design submissions are required. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Design will begin from floor plans to be provided by the VA Medical Center. Estimated start date is October 1, 1995. Total contract completion time shall be 360 calendar days.
