Work consists of the installation of a 15 kV, outdoor, non-walk-in, metal enclosed, fuse and switch line-up and a 480V, double ended, outdoor, walk-in unit substation. Substation will be provided by Brookhaven. 15 kV switch and fuse line-up shall be rated 15 kV, 600A, 95 kV BIL. 480 volt unit substation shall be comprised of two 2500/3500 kVA oil filled transformers, 13,800 volts - 480 volts, low voltage switchgear, 480 volt, 3 phase, 3 wire, 5000 A copper main bus with associated metering and instrumentation. The work also includes area grading and site preparation, underground electrical raceway, manholes, concrete foundations, concrete containment pit, fencing, cable, HV/LV terminations, exothermic grounding, testing and startup. Estimated construction cost is $100,000 to $250,000. Estimated construction time is 26 weeks. Bid documents will be available on or about August 15, 1995. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds are required after contract award. Brookhaven is charging a non-refundable fee of $25 for bid documents. Personal checks made out to ''Brookhaven National Laboratory'' are acceptable. Checks may be sent immediately and bid packages will be mailed upon availability.
