Pre-Solicitation: Part ``A'' Work includes painting of all interior surfaces previously painted including walls, ceilings, door frames, doors, concrete floors and stairs, steel handrails and banisters. Lead based paint has been identified in certain areas. Also included is replacement of doors, carpet, acoustical ceiling, interior signage and some light fixtures. Part ``B'' Work includes removal of existing asphalt shingles, repair of substrate and flashings and gutters with accessories; providing and installing new fibercement slate shingles on roof and doormers; repair and protection of existing flat seam copper roof; repair of windows by replacing balances and other hardware. Non-friable asbestos has been identified in roofing mastic. Estimated cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Pursuant to P.L. 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this solicitaton is classified as unrestricted. The proposed solicitation listed here is being considered for 100% set aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should, as early as possible, but not later than 10 days from the date this notice first appears, indicate interest in the acquisiton by providing to the contracting office above, evidence of capability to perform, including performance and credit references, former contracts of similar size and complexity, and a positive state of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all interested parties as well as from SDB concerns. Requests for copies of this proposed procurement should be submitted in writing, state the solicitation number, and provide complete name, address, phone number and business size of the requestor. Additionally, requestors should indicate whether they intend to bid as a prime contractor, subcontractor or supplier. Telephone and telefax requests for copies of the solicitation or bidders' lists will not be accepted. Requests should be receved as soon as possible in order to facilitate mailin of same, to the extent copies are available, directly to the inquirer at time of issuance. Availability of the solicitation is limited and will be furnished on a first received first served basis. Requests received later than 10 days prior to the establishd bid opening date may not be honored due to lack of sufficient time to otain additional copies should demands for same be substantial.
