POC LIVIE V. SPEARMAN, III., CONTRACT SPECIALIST (301) 594 - 8855. The
National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes &
Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to purchase The
PHOTOMETRIC PXL 37, HIGH SPEED MODULAR CHARGED COUPLED DEVICE COOLED
CATHODE DETECTOR (CCD) CAMERA, to work together with our existing
imaging system built around a Zeiss Photomicroscope III Microscope &
including a 486/66/EISA computer, Universal Imaging Metamorph software,
Ludle dual filter wheel, Ludle microscope stage & Z focus drivers &
Panasonic optical disc recorder. The image acquisition must be fast
enough to send 2-4 pictures/second to the computer to detect cellular
events within seconds, work with fluorescent labels below 450 nm. Any
adaptor to the microscope should be included. On site integration,
testing, training and technical support is essential to ensure
uninterrupted operation & to avoid unacceptable downtime with ongoing
experiments. The camera has to be sensitive enough and work with low
noise to allow using physiological, low dye concentrations. The
transfer speed and readout time must be minimized between image pairs
for reliable measurement of ratio images. To detect rapid events at low
light level with our existing microscope imaging system. The camera
made by Princeton Instruments has low noise level, high speed & fast
transfer time necessary for our experiments. The Justification For
Other Than Full & Open Competition is that the drivers for the camera
must be completely integrated with the existing Universal Imaging
Metamorph software to allow integrated control of the experimental
conditions. The intended source Universal Imaging Corporation is the
manufacture of the Metamorph software that is customized for the
PHOTOMETRIC PXL 37, HIGH SPEED MODULAR CHARGED COUPLED DEVICE COOLED
CATHODE DETECTOR (CCD) CAMERA, & PHOTOMETRIC CAMERA SOFTWARE DRIVERS.
Universal Imaging Corporation will install and guarantee complete
integration of standard software and hardware into the Universal
Imaging current system, for those elements that they provide. All
responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received,
shall be considered by the agency. (See Note 22). It is anticipated
that the Request For Quotation (RFQ) Number NIH-NIDDK-95-110 will be
available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this
synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the
release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is August 22, 1995.
Requests for copies of the RFQ must be in writing and maybe requested
by FAX (301) 480 - 4226. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the
National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
