COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 28,1995 PSA#1398US Property & Fiscal Office for NY, ATTN: MNPF-PC, 330 Old Niskayuna
Rd., Latham, NY 12110-2224 C -- DESIGN A MAINTENANCE HANGAR & SHOPS AND DESIGN A CENTRAL WASH
FACILITY & FUEL CELL HANGAR. SOL DAHA30-95-R-0007. Due 083195. Contact
Point, Bonnie Hetfield, (518) 786-4460, Contracting Officer, Major
Russell Catalano, (518) 786-4740. Correction: Issue No. PSA-1384;
Monday, July 10, 1995; Page 3. The original announcement incorrectly
stated: ``The selected A/E will provide Type A (investigative) service,
with option for Type B (design) and Type C (construction surveillance)
services to construct a 27,000 square foot aircraft maintenance hangar
and 1,000 square foot of adjoining shop area.'' The announcement should
correctly read: ``The selected A/E will provide Type A (investigative)
service, with option for Type B (design) and Type C (construction
surveillance) services to construct a 27,000 square foot aircraft
maintenance hangar and 21,000 square feet of adjoining shop area.''
This correction also adds the Central Wash Facility & Fuel Cell Hangar
design project to the original announcement, and extends the due date
to 31 August 1995 for both projects. The additional project is as
follows: Architect/Engineering (A/E) Services for a Central Wash
Facility & Fuel Cell Hangar at the 109th Airlift Group, New York Air
National Guard, Schenectady County Airport, Scotia, New York. The
selected A/E will provide Type A (investigative) services, with option
for Type B (design) and Type C (construction surveillance) services to
construct a 25,400 square foot aircraft fuel cell repair and corrosion
control hangar. This project will be designed as a single project,
including demolition of an existing facility. Estimated design start
date is December 1995 with a seven-month duration. Significant
evaluation factors for A/E selection are listed in order of importance:
1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance
of required services; 2) Specialized experience and technical
competence in the type of work required; 3) Capacity to accomplish the
work in the required time; 4) Past performance on contracts with
government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control,
quality of work and compliance with performance schedules; 5) Location
in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the
locality of the project; provided that application of this criterion
leaves an appropriate number of qualified firms, given the nature and
size of the project; 6) Volume of DOD work previously awarded to the
firm. Estimated construction contract range is between $1,000,000 and
$5,000,000. This project is hereby added to the A/E selection
announcement for the Maintenance Hangar & Shops design project and will
be evaluated at the same time as the first project. Multiple awards are
anticipated for these two separate projects. (207) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0016 19950727\C-0004.SOL)
