P -- SALVAGE SERVICES IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC REGION SOL N00024-96-R-4002 POC 0242, C. Harting, 703-602-8116. The Naval Sea Systems Command will be soliciting proposals for an upcoming NAVSEA reprocurement of its Salvage and Salvage-Related Services Contract for the Western Pacific Zone. These services involve the salvage of ships, craft, cargo, and other items (e.g., aircraft, weaponry equipment, etc.) as tasked, salvage-related firefighting, towing, harbor clearance, ocean engineering projects, and point-to-point towing. The geographical region encompassed by the contract begins at the North Pole, proceeds south along the International Date Line to Antarctica, then north along 15 degrees east longitude to the coast of South Africa, then south, east, and north along the continents on the Indian and Pacific Oceans to the Arctic Ocean, then west to 35 degrees east, then north to the North Pole. The resulting indefinite quantity contract will be for one base year plus four out-year options.
